The House of Mercy Band

The House of Mercy Band plays
County Gospel and great American Hymns every Sunday down at
the House of Mercy church in downtown St. Paul. Originally a
classic rock cover band called "Ice Houze" from Brainerd
Minnesota, they answered a higher calling to lead a church congregation
in singing hymns every week. The band moved to St. Paul in 1996
to be the House of Mercy's church house band. They have led
the people in singing their hearts out for the past ten years.
The band was honored this year at
the Minnesota Music Awards with top prize of "Best Gospel
Group 2005". The group has appeared on the Garrison Keillor
Rhubarb Show, hosts a monthly radio show "Live at the Turf
Club" and has hosted many tribute shows featuring Ralph
Stanley, Charlie Louvin, and Gordon Gano of the Violent Femmes.
The House of Mercy Band has five
CDs and seven music videos, and their most recent release is
called "Blesses Curses."
