Friday, February 8th 2008, 7:00 PM, Rogers MN: CROSS Fund Raiser, World of Peace Lutheran Church (21705 129th Ave N). Minnesota's premier bluegrass band, Monroe Crossing, and the Blessings Gospel Trio, perform for a CROSS fundraiser. Tickets are $15 in advance, $14 seniors & students, $17 at the door. Saturday February 9th 2008, 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM, Saint Peter MN: Saint Peter Fiddle Contest, Trinity Lutheran Church (511 S 5th St). Pee-wee, junior-junior, junior, and open divisions allow fiddlers from the very youngest to the very oldest to compete for prizes from $10 to $250. The Waybacks provide an evening of fun music, fine playing and family friendly entertainment, whether you enjoy the traditional sound of bluegrass, rocking country of Nashville, or the jazz influences of West coast cowboys. The High 48s celebrate the release of their new CD, "Who Needs Love?," with a show at the Cedar Cultural Center. The 48s will be joined by special guests The DitchLilies. Valerie Smith has become an ambassador of bluegrass music and Liberty Pike is an amazingly talented band and features Becky Buller, a multi-instrumentalist and incredible songwriter from St James MN.
