EDUCATION ENDOWMENT FUNDRAISER
MBOTMA will be staging our annual two-day Tom O'Neill Educational Endowment Fund fundraising event in Minneapolis at Dulono's Pizza (607 W Lake St) on Friday and Saturday, January 29-30, 2010. The event will run from about 7:00 PM to midnight on both nights. Altogether we expect to have a dozen groups performing. Admission to the event will be free and we will be soliciting donations from the audience.
The cause is a worthy one. All proceeds from this event will benefit the Tom O'Neill Educational Endowment Fund, whose mission is to further the education and understanding of bluegrass and old-time music. This is a capital fund, meaning the money is never spent; only the interest it generates. In the past year these funds have been used to help pay for several in-school presentations on traditional music and to support the Grass Seeds Kids Academy program that takes place each year at the Winter Bluegrass Weekend. Of course, the more money that we can add to the fund, the more interest will be available each year and the more we can accomplish.
Is your group interested in performing at one of the open times listed below? Contact MBOTMA EXecutive Director Jed Malischke for more information.
