Donna Ulisse

 • “One of the most commanding voices in   Bluegrass music”. -Edward Morris/writer for   CMT.com • “It’s hard to know which is more   exciting, Donna’s singing or her songwriting”. -   Wade Jessen/BillboardMagazine •

Donna Ulisse is a key figure in the   bluegrass, folk and acoustic music scene as a singer and songwriter. Her single “It Could Have Been The Mandolin” topped the Bluegrass Unlimited chart at #1 for two months in a row in 2016 and in the same year she was also named 2016 IBMA (Int'l Bluegrass Music Association) Songwriter of the Year. She won the IBMA award for Song of the Year in 2017 as co-writer of the bluegrass hit "I Am A Drifter" recorded by Volume Five. In February of 2018 she won the SPBGMA (Society for the Preservation of Bluegrass Music in America) Songwriter of the Year Award. Her eleventh album “Breakin’ Easy” was released September of 2017 by Mountain Home Music Company and was produced by bluegrass legend Doyle Lawson

As a songwriter Ulisse has had songs recorded by bluegrass artists Claire Lynch, Darin and Brooke Aldridge, Doyle Lawson, Larry Stephenson Band, Volume Five and many more. Her song “Butler Brothers” was on the 2014 Grammy winning album Streets of Baltimore by the Del McCoury Band.

Rick Stanley

Rick Stanley started songwriting at an early age. The fact that his cousins were bluegrass superstars probably didn’t hurt his early success either. Rick wrote his first song “Home in the Mountains” when he was only 15 years old. The song has gone on to be recorded by several artists including Ralph Stanley and Keith Whitley.

Even though Rick hit it out of the park on the first try he still looks back and realizes how lucky he got. “I’d always grown up and listened to Carter’s (Stanley) writing, so when I wrote that song I just kind of relied on all I had heard all those years. I didn’t know what I was doing, but I’d say to write a good song you need to live a bit more life to do it.” Many times, the Stanley brothers would stay over at Rick’s childhood home and Rick would ride to town with Carter. When asked what Rick would talk to Carter about if he could go back, Rick says he would talk to Carter about his songwriting. Rick has continued to find even more songwriting success and happiness while writing and playing with his wife singer-songwriter Donna Ulisse.

Jerry Salley

Referred to by Billboard Magazine as “One of Music Row’s greatest veteran tunesmiths,” Jerry Salley has had an incredibly successful, multi-award winning songwriting career.  Nominated in 2019 for the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame & for a GRAMMY for producing the multi-artist project Gonna Sing, Gonna Shout, Salley is the 2019 & 2018 IBMA (International Bluegrass Music Association) Songwriter of the Year and was named the 2003 SESAC Country Music Songwriter of the Year.  Salley has had over 500 different songs recorded and his songs have sold in excess of 18 million records worldwide.  Writing and singing in Nashville since 1982, he has written multiple hits in country, bluegrass, and gospel music and may well be the most successful songwriter to have earned equal recognition from all three genres of music.

From Sir Elton John’s only chart single to appear on the Billboard Country Chart (“Where We Both Say Goodbye” – duet with Australian artist Catherine Britt) to a Gospel song so popular it has been included in church hymnals (“His Strength Is Perfect”); from songs recorded by country music legends Loretta Lynn and The Oak Ridge Boys to some of today’s biggest country stars like Chris Stapleton, Reba McEntire, and Brad Paisley, Jerry’s long list of accomplishments speaks for itself. In the bluegrass genre, Jerry was named the 2019 & 2018 IBMA Songwriter of the Year and has had hundreds of songs, including numerous chart-toppers, recorded.
