2019 Old-Time Instructional Camp

Attention all Old-Time Players! Join Steam Machine for the 2019 Old-Time Instructional Camp (also known as Jam Camp)

Bring your bass, guitar, banjo, or fiddle to this fun, intensive event and get more out of your playing! Camp is open to adults and youth 12 and up.

Camp Begins: Tuesday, August 6th at 7:00 p.m. with a group jam and ends with the Thursday evening recital on the main stage as part of the main event festivities.

Cost: $100 until July 1.  $110: July 2 – August 1

What to Expect: Morning classes and breakout sessions will be in instrument groups (divided into fiddle, banjo, and bass/guitar). In the afternoons students can choose between ensembles workshops on playing in a band and playing for dances, or square dance calling. Evenings will include history of some of the repertoire and square dancing.  The camp will close out with all students performing on the Main stage on Thursday evening.

Camping: Participants wishing to stay onsite must pay the $15 per night camping fee ($30 max per vehicle). Minors must camp with an adult.

Food: Participants are responsible for their own food.  Festival food vendors are generally setup by Thursday afternoon.

Festival Tickets: Jam camp participants must purchase festival tickets for the rest of the weekend if they wish to attend.
